4 /5 Martin Hennessy: After hearing how close this was and having not been there, today was the day to fix that. The interior was nicer than we first expected and we were able to sit right away. Decided on a plate of crispy tacos (with fajita beef) and a burrito (chicken fajita meat this time.)
I will say that the house salsa is perfect. I just wish there was more in a bowl. You see, I would consider Taco Cowboy good casual fare. I would easily take this to go on a picnic. So, the salsa coming in a small Styrofoam cup is great for a to go order or picnic but not so much for dining in. The meat on the tacos and burrito were very good...great sear on the beef. The beans were neither over-seasoned nor under-seasoned. Overall, we liked the food and service.
We will definitely be back. We will mix it up a little next time. Ask for extra salsa, do a quesadilla with the fajita beef or go just go with ground beef and try taking it all on a picnic. We saw a family coming from the lake with their boat just to have nachos and I can see us enjoying, tacos in hand, saying adios to a beautiful sunset in central Texas.
