2 /5 Tina Hawley: It’s hard to review this Shell station because it’s really good and really bad. The really good is the convenience store, it definitely feels like a tiny Buccee’s. The bathrooms are wonderful, there’s souvenir items and Texas decor to buy and premade sandwiches along with a BBQ restaurant. The really BAD is the pumps. If you are in motorhome pass this one by. On approach it looked like there were plenty of pumps and space, but 8 of the pumps were out of service. We had to circle (very carefully) three times to position ourselves at a working pump. We’re a motorhome towing a car, 45 feet in length, and we can’t back up because of the attached car, so positioning is always tricky. It was so disappointing to circle around and around and see all the out of service bags covering the pump handles. Some folks were using the broken pump positions as parking to go in the store, so my guess is it’s been out of service a long time. We travel across the US multiple times a year and I don’t think I’ve seen that many out of service pumps in one gas station. I think they should pay as much attention to the condition of the pumps (it IS a gas station, after all) as the touristy store and restaurant.
