3 /5 James Klein: As we drove through Gonzales TX, we suddenly had a feeling for Mexican food. I checked out Google Maps looking for a recommendation. We found Mi Lupita Taco House highly rated, so we stopped in. Maybe because we arrived within 30 mins from closing, but I felt that the ladies were rude and short. Luckily, a young man ended up being our waiter. We ordered the #1 Special Dinner Plate and the #37 Gordita Plate.
The enchiladas, puffy tacos and gorditas were very good. What was disappointing was the rice and beans. The rice looked beautiful with onions and green bell peppers, but it simply did not have any flavor. The prices were fair and the restaurant was in a good downtown location overall 3 stars but a more welcoming greeting and more flavorful rice could have made it a 5 star rating.
