5 /5 Vicky Wu: Stop here if youre driving Houston to Austin! I love these small local restaurants when we find a good one. As soon as we walked in, I said "it smells good" - the smell of good BBQ that will likely taste good. The customer at the counter said "it IS good". I popped into restroom (clean!) while husband ordered, and when I came back out and saw the size of the rib on his plate I said WOW. I have never seen a beef rib that large at any BBQ spot weve been to. Ridiculously large. Get an arm workout while you eat. Husband ended up taking half of it to go it was so large. He also said it was delicious (I will take his word since I can no longer eat meat), cooked well, tender, tasty. I had a few of their sides - baked potato, green beans, cole slaw - and those were great as well. Fresh food. Staff was super nice and friendly. Service was fast. Restaurant was clean. I did giggle when I handed my husband the plastic fork I grabbed and saw it compared to the size of the rib on his plate, I just looked at him and told him best to use his hands. Next time we make the drive, we definitely plan to stop again. Dont bother with stopping at Buccees for a chopped beef sandwich ... drive a bit further down the road for this instead.
