4 /5 Joshua Steele: Possibly the friendliest service in Laredo. The owner has a genuine passion for his business and even named it after his daughter, Olivia. The brisket has true smoked flavor, and was extremely moist. The potato salad was fresh and not overpowering and was complimented by quality dill slices. The barbecue sauce was perfectly mild but not too "ketchupy". The sliders were slightly overdone, but delicious and covered in a healthy dose of cheese. The fries were very thick....reminiscent of potato wedges and required ketchup or ranch dip to moisten them up. The Menudo was spot on with a thick broth and a good mix of flavors without being overpowered by hominy. The atmosphere needs a little work but was decently pleasant. Tables and chairs were sturdy and not l wobbly which is important in my book. If you follow my reviews 4 stars is pretty lofty as 5 stars is reserved for ultimate superiority. A visit to Livis is definitely recommended, you will not be disappointed. Besides, you will not get better service and you will be supporting a family business!
