4 /5 Celeste Tunstall: This is a favorite of my parents, and theyve been coming here regularly since the restaurant opened. Weve all noticed a steady decline in quality, food and service in this time, unfortunately.
The food is still good, but its definitely not what it used to be. The flavor for most items is pretty good, but Ive gotten quite a few things from here that were honestly very bland. For the prices they charge, youd expect consistency and uniformity across the board, but its a gamble on flavor and quality.
The staff are usually pretty attentive and responsive, but as the restaurant has grown in popularity, theyve become less-so as you can imagine. Theyre constantly going from frigid indoors to smeltering outdoors, trying their best to take care of customers along the way. I dont blame them at all, but it is noteworthy. During our latest visit, they forgot our drinks and we had to grab a second waitress thirty minutes after waiting for the first. This was just for water, and yes we were outside so it was hot. Our food then arrived over an hour after that, including the appetizer and the alcoholic beverages.
Inside is blaringly loud. Theres no sound insulation, theres a lot of metal, and theres barely concrete, meaning everything reverberates and echoes until it amplifies to a deafening degree. Outside, theres beautiful scenery next to the little river that winds along the path, but unfortunately, we ARE in Texas so it gets uncomfortably hot. Theres only the occasional large umbrella outside for shade. We always choose the uncomfortable heat over the uncomfortable volume since it feels like theres no benefit to eating inside.
This may be a good "once in a special occasion" type place. But anything more, and you may begin having lackluster experiences like weve had our past few visits
