1 /5 Kelvin Holt: I wish I had more to review, but I talked my wife into ducking into this place for a quick lunch and received the coldest of receptions. You know that feeling you get when you are simply not welcome?
We walked in and up tho the counter where I asked if the “gentleman” had any menus we could look at, in response, I received only an abrupt hand gesture toward a stack of menus near a cash register . . . No greeting, no eye contact, not welcoming at all. I grabbed two menus and joined my wife at a table where we looked through the menus.
While the menus had some great pictures, we would have appreciated a little more detail about what was included with each menu item.
For the record, both my wife and I have spent time in South Korea where we enjoyed the food, we also frequently dine at local Korean restaurants, in fact, Dolsot Bibimbap and Kalbi (Galbi) are two of our favorites dishes.
Despite the extensive menu, what hung over our heads was and poor reception that we received upon entry. There were only two other diners in the entire restaurant, so it wasn’t a matter of them being swamped, it was just crappy service, or rather, no service at all.
I seriously doubt that we will be back for another try, there are simply too many welcoming restaurants around. I returned the menus and my wife and I departed, an still, not a peep from the man behind the counter.
I work in this area and frequently see groups of Koreans entering and exiting the restaurant while laughing, smiling and conversing. I’m not going to accuse them of prejudice, but perhaps the staff would have been a bit more welcoming if either I or my wife were of a different ethnicity, I don’’t know. Maybe we just arrived at the wrong time and with the wrong staff member behind the counter.
If the owner/manager reads this review, the only advice I can offer is “Do Better”.
