3 /5 Eating Adventures With Omar: I used to frequent this establishment often, until the older gentleman was really rude to me a few years ago. I started going to the Killeen location, but then it closed. This chicken was some of the best, if not the best, in the area. It was always crispy, flavorful, and juicy. The sides, however, have never been good to me. I gave the sides multiple opportunities, but nothing was as flavor packed as the chicken. Ive even tried the breakfast tacos and burritos. They didnt disappoint at all. I was in the area and hungry, so I decided to stop by for a two-piece. The service was faster than previous, but my chicken was soggy on one side. The crispy side was great and what I remembered, but the soggy side looked like an elderly person, and the skin was kind of mushy. It wasnt a complete disappointment, but that wasnt what I was expecting to get.

5 /5 Katie Carpenter: The best breakfast around and worth the drive from Salado! They remind me of the restaurants I would visit as a kid in S Texas. Definitely my favorite spot for a taco or burrito, and the Fat Ernie never disappoints! Make sure you call ahead so you don’t have to wait! (If they’re busy you might have to call twice.)

5 /5 DemonKnight: I had the 4pc chicken tenders and fries. Man i was expecting puny little ole tenders like you normally get. Nope these were huge. You really dont need a side when you get the tenders. And you dont get just a measely hand full of skinny fast food fries. These are thick fries more like what you see in a steak house but still stick fries not wedges. They give you enough gravy to dip your tenders in and the fries (if you so choose) and still enough to lick out of the bowl itsjust thick enough to stick but thin enough to drip a little aka just right. Seasoning was good too. Prices are good for the amount of food you get.

4 /5 Tate Vinson: Ernies Fried Chicken 08-02-24 I stopped by to get lunch It’s a small place but nice. I used the order window and waited in my car till they called my name. We had; Chicken Fried Steak with Mashed Potatoes and Fries. Tasted like processed Steak that came frozen. But it was good with the gravy and potatoes. Steak Finger Basket with Fries. Same as the Chicken Fried Steak 9 Piece Chicken Tenders. Tender and good. I also got ½ Dz Chicken Livers that were battered well and had good flavor. I Ordered the Catfish Only which came with Tarter Sauce and Two Hushpuppies. Good Cornmeal Batter and crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. All in all it was OK. Nothing special but still good. I would go back to try their Fried Chicken and Breakfast Tacos! The employee that waited on me was very friendly and nice. Overall it was a pleasant experience

5 /5 James Stutes: She aint much to look at but the love that comes out of that little building could fill a palace. I dare you to find something on their menu that isnt amazing! We originally started going here for their breakfast burritos and found that it wasnt even their specialty, its the fried chicken! Yall, its so good, they sell out... They. Sell. Out. My first time trying the chicken, I was thinking, its fried chicken, how can you make it better than any of the chain restaurants... WRONG! The batter is super crispy and the breading didnt slough off because it was too greasy, even the white meat was still moist and not overcooked. So often you get a fried breast and its dry and stringy, not here boss! If you judge the outside, youre missing out on a culinary experience on the inside.
