2 /5 Mary Rosa: We visited this restaurant for the first and definitely the last time. The entire experience was disappointing, from the pricing to the food quality, cleanliness, and customer service.
Pricing & Policies
• What a way to lose customers: not only by overcharging them, but also by refusing to let them take their scraps home. Instead, they charge per pound, for your leftovers, often more than what you would eat in the buffet itself. We didnt want to throw food out or leave them on the table like everyone else.
• The cost was shockingly high: over $115 total, (over $10 for tip, which no one deserved or earned, over $8 tax and over $25 for our leftover scarps), for three people. For the quality we received, this was nowhere near worth it.
• We ended up paying an extra $25 just to take home our leftover scraps, including a small cup of broth. This policy is unreasonable and exploitative.
The funny part is, my husband left a tip, though I don’t understand why. There was absolutely no service, it was entirely self-service. No one cleared the tables, and customer service was nonexistent.
Food Quality
• Some dishes were edible, but many were oily, bland, or tasted artificial.
• Several items didn’t taste authentic at all. You could tell the chicken came from frozen, rubbery and not fresh, tough to cut, and unpleasant to eat.
• The pizza was stale and sat out for over 30 minutes without being refreshed. By the time new pizzas were finally brought out, everyone was already full.
• Desserts were disappointing: the rose water flavor was unpleasant, and the chocolate ice cream tasted watered down and fake.
Cleanliness
• When we arrived, the table next to us still had dirty dishes on it that were never cleared. Later, another group left, and their table also remained untouched. Throughout the more than 45 minutes we were there, multiple tables sat dirty with plates and utensils left behind, staff should have been monitoring and cleaning them regularly.
• The lack of attention to cleanliness makes the environment feel neglected and unprofessional.
Customer Service
• There is essentially no customer service. So, don’t expect staff coming to ask you anything. The process is: walk in, grab a plate, serve yourself, and pay on the way out.
• No one checked in, asked how things were going, or offered assistance.
• Every time we got up, the host was sitting down across from the host desk on her phone and when she decided to eat, no one was at the host desk. The atmosphere felt cold and unwelcoming. While staff do have the right to eat and rest, doing so during a full house on a Saturday sends the wrong message. Guests should be greeted, asked how everything is, or whether it’s their first time visiting. Instead, staff being on their phones, and no customer service was offered. This gives the impression that customers are not a priority. Maybe I grew up in a different era, with respect.
Overall Experience
• The food left us feeling unwell, extremely oily dishes, it caused us severe phlegm and stomach pain.
• The taste was not authentic, and the quality was far below expectations for the price.
• The combination of overpriced food, poor service, lack of cleanliness, and unfair leftover charges made this visit extremely disappointing.
Final Thoughts
This restaurant is overpriced, lacks cleanliness, offers poor service, and serves food that doesn’t taste fresh or authentic. Charging customers extra for scraps is the final insult. We were shocked and disappointed by the entire experience. For us, this was the first and last visit — we will not be returning.
NOTE: They probably didn’t take the plastic container into consideration. I measured the leftover food once we arrived home, and the amount was very different from how they weigh it, but their method Im sure over charged. The receipt shows to go, it was leftovers.
