5 /5 Nathan Martin: My son and I were driving through College Station for business and found ourselves in the mood for a good country-fried steak. I was told The Cotton Patch was a solid choice—and it absolutely did not disappoint.
The atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable, and the service was outstanding, especially considering they were short-handed. Our server went above and beyond; at one point, I even saw them walk an elderly woman out to her car and help her with her leftovers. That kind of kindness says a lot about a place.
The portions aren’t oversized, but they’re incredibly tasty and satisfying—we cleaned our plates without hesitation. It was exactly what we were craving. I’ve been to quite a few country-style restaurants, and honestly, this was the best I’ve had in several years.
The only downside? They don’t have a location in Austin.
If you’re in College Station and hungry, I definitely recommend stopping by The Cotton Patch. You won’t leave disappointed.
