3 /5 Veronica Varela: Long awaited visit to Casa Pantera which is highly raved about.
2 couples and we tried as an appetizer the octopus and bone marrow both good, good flavor.
Our main dishes were quite a wait but I think that’s just how it works from looking at a table of two who came in after us and when we left they were still waiting for their food, in other words don’t be in a rush.
My main dish: short rib plate 10/10 in flavor and tenderness great recommendation by out server, price $40, the cilantro “salad” is just a side of cilantro and some radishes not really a salad but whatever works.
Husband: 22oz ribeye, great flavor but at $66ish(?) it comes with no sides. He ordered black beans $13 for a little side bowl, tasty but $13? Mmm no.
My sister in law had the chicken and that was delicious, my brother in law had some waygu and he wasn’t impressed and ended up eating her chicken.
We ordered a frozen margarita, a regular one and two palomas - my margarita was extremely tart and citrusy my favorite was the paloma from what we ordered.
At the end of the night our tab (just 2 of us) was $195 before gratuity.
We were sat outdoors and that was not the place especially with all the flies, you and the flies are both eating. It’s summer and it’s inevitable but it took away from the enjoyment. Definitely don’t recommend outdoor seating in the summer.
Verdict: it’s good and serves a vibe but for me it was a one and done.
