1 /5 Doug Clark: I ordered tacos with corn tortillas. Lady said they only had hard shell tacos. That raised a red flag, but I ordered anyway. Just as I thought, these are NOT real Mexican style street tacos. NOT EVEN CLOSE. They were hard shell, with shredded cheese & lettuce. No different than Taco Bell. It’s mind boggling they would serve this slop, so CLOSE to the Mexican border! My theory is that the 1st/2nd/3rd gen Mexicans move to the larger cities, or deeper into the US. While the 8th/9th/10th generation of ‘Tejanos’ are more likely to speak mixed Spanglish, and less likely to make real Mexican food the Mexican way & more likely to make it like Taco Bell. It would make for an interesting academic study of cultural shifts. IMO.
