5 /5 Justin Lui: Experience is a 5 star. The layout of the entry way and waiting area feels like a maze. Weird and quirky but fine.
All the food is 4 star. Fried chicken, fried catfish, thick mashed potatoes, green beans, sweet corn, etc. The salad is very average with a sweet tangy dressing, 3 star. The biscuit is enjoyable with crunchy bits and ends so 5 star. It comes with honey on every table.
For newbies, servers just provide 5 options and everything else is complimentary. Overall food is good at 4 star. Experience? I’ll give it a 5 star. Come early to avoid the lines so we came 11am on a Tuesday. Any of the main dishes can be taken home in a plastic bag — so all the sides are a no-go.
Ps. if you made it this far, I lol’Ed when we had the only Asian server. The irony is that we were the only Asian family at this time so it was like a 1/15 chance. So shout out to Kayla to serving southern fried food in Texas. This is just an observation and neither criticism nor feedback. Overall, enjoy the food and experience.
