Marcus Louis Fien: Easily the best community in Austin! The vibes are always high and you can learn something new every time you step in watching some of the fittest in Austin. All equipment needed plus a lot of stuff youve never seen before. Currently training for Hyrox Dallas because of this crew. Coach Bray is leading the way with Men in the Arena every other Friday and his specific hyrox training program that meets every Saturday for an intense workout. (Breakfast Club, 7:30am). If youre looking to find your people, get shredded, network and learn then go grab a tour and lock in.

Karina: Its clean and cheap and all, but still a gateway gym. This is not the place to be if youre a trained, long-time or high performance athlete. If you are more of a leisure sporty then it works. Typical gym etiquette is not used here. Examples are not knowing about rotating machines with people waiting in long lines (especially with how packed it gets in the afternoons) and talking on the phone in the workout area (even though this is explicitly posted about around the gym). Customer service is outstanding. Front desk support is always ready to help and great at conversing.
    Forge Strength Austin - Austin
Jorge Garrett: If youre looking for a new gym and a personal trainer - this is the place to be. Christian (the owner) is awesome, approachable, and super knowledgeable. He is patient and can work with you no matter what level you are at. I was a beginner when I started and I learned the "Forge" way. My goal was to become proficient, gain weight and get stronger. Christian tailors the training to your goals to help you get where you want to be. The entire experience feels very boutique and personal. The facility is conveniently located on South Lamar and has very high-quality, maintained equipment. My wife and I have been going to Forge for years and we highly recommend it. You will definitely see results if you can put in the work and commit. Thank you Christian!!
    Life Time - Austin
    Life Time
Susan Q Stockton: Cleanest and most well staffed gym I’ve ever been to! I’m a regular. Love the trail out back and equipment but it is the best Lifetime in town because of it’s staff. They genuinely care and have changed my life. Shout out to Luc, Jane, Sergio, Tracy, Karen, Austin, Elaine, Kimberly and so many more. Equipment is kept in working order, people stack their weights when they are done, don’t invade my set to ask if I’m done. It’s pretty wonderful. Thanks Lifetime :-)
    Atomic Athlete - Austin
    Atomic Athlete
Mike Adams: Ive been going to Atomic Athlete in Austin, TX on and off for over 10 years, and no matter where or what else I try, I always find myself coming back. Theres just something about the culture, the community, and especially the programming that sets Atomic Athlete apart from any other gym Ive tried. Whenever Im fully involved in their programs and staying consistent, I always feel like the best version of myself—physically and mentally. The workouts are extremely well designed and challenging, but also scalable and thoughtfully structured, so I always feel like Im progressing. The coaches here are truly the best in the business. Theyre knowledgeable, attentive, and genuinely care about helping every member succeed. The community feels like a family; everyone supports each other and pushes each other to be better. Ive tried taking breaks and experimenting with other gyms and programs, but nothing compares to Atomic Athlete. I cant think of a single reason why I wouldnt recommend this gym to anyone who wants to change their life. If youre looking for a place that will challenge you, support you, and help you become your best self, Atomic Athlete is it.
    SWEAT440 Fitness Zilker - Austin
Candice Saybounkham: Ive been going to SWEAT440 Zilker for the past six weeks, and I can confidently say its one of the best fitness decisions Ive made. The format is super convenient—just show up any time and jump into a class every 10 minutes, no stress. The real standouts are the coaches. Lorenzo, Austin, and Grace are incredible—each brings their own energy and motivation to every workout. Lorenzo pushes you just the right amount, Austin keeps the vibes high and the form on point, and Grace is always encouraging while making sure you’re getting the most out of your session.
    The Colosseum - Austin
James Mikkelson: This is a great gym if youre near east Austin. We got a month pass for just $115. The place is spacious and light, and feels brand new. Has bands, weights, sleds, Jacobs ladder, basically everything you need. Dumbbells go up to 110lbs I think. Never very busy here, we went various times of the day. If you go early weekend morning or late nights, youll probably share it with just one or two others. Showers and a small sauna too. No lockers but the shelves you leave stuff on feels safe enough. All the staff are really friendly and helpful. Mostly chilled vibes the other members, except the occasional special case that needs to sing at the top of their voice for attention. Also be good if they could do protein shakes, I get the feeling they will at some point. Can park right out front. Highly recommend.
    Gregory Gym - Austin
    Gregory Gym
Erika Benitez: Super nice gymnasium. A lot of space even though it doesn’t seem so big. Went to a UT white vs orange game and so much fun. Got there a bit late yet still had a great seat and view of the game.
    State Line Gym - Austin
R: Excellent gym. Great setup for someone like myself that just needs to lift, stretch, and a workout in ony busy schedule. Highly recommend. The owner is very responsive on email and text. You wont find anything better in East Austin for self directed fitness.
    SWEAT440 Fitness Highland - Austin
Jacus Hamilton: I stumbled across Sweat440 when I was taking advantage of a $5 promotion of ClassPass access. I found the classes challenging, but do-able; I liked that you could come in whenever, bang out a workout, and though you are working out alongside other attendees, you dont necessarily have to engage as much with them as you might have to in other class formats. The music is usually good and it is conveniently located. When I came in for my first class, the manager walked me through much of the first session, coaching me on my posture and technique, which is what I knew I needed a lot of help with. The coaching was appreciated, and for this reason, I decided to sign up for a membership. However, that manager left after a couple of months, and since then, management hasnt seemed very interested in being on the turf with us and assisting with form, unless it is someone that they are obviously buddy-buddy with, (or maybe wanted their phone number!) That is, until Lana started at the Highland studio. Lana has been the best trainer at this gym since I started almost two years ago. And there have been a LOT of them. Management has cycled in and out quickly in the past, which was tough on the trainers, who would end up throwing in the towel as well. But Lana has stuck around. She always has a smile on her face, and welcomes everyone warmly by name. She is on the turf whenever possible, helping every person out - the newbies and the vets - while cheering us on and encouraging us. She is there with a sani-towel as we finish our sets, or wiping the equipment down for us, before we can get to it ourselves! She has been great for her staff. Turnover seems lower, and the trainers are following her lead on the turf and assisting us wherever they can. In the past, the trainers could be stand-offish or seem disinterested and checked out. Her influence on the rest of the trainers is definitely showing lately. She knows us - she asks us about our fitness goals, but also knows about our lives, our backgrounds, our fears and our wins. She is great at getting people chatting with each other, too. A lot of us have been coming here for months and havent really spoken to one another, but that has changed. There is more of a "team" vibe now than there ever has been. She is also (seemingly) in the studio 7 days a week, and I recently found out she has even moved super close by, just to be present whenever she is needed. Anyway, I can be just as guilty as the next guy - only coming on here to leave reviews when something negative happens at a place of business - but I felt compelled to come on here and give a shout out to yall. Keep up the great work! Jacus
