5 /5 C. Mouche: I was given some family heirlooms and didn’t know the buy and selling of gold process. I looked up companies and found the reviews for this company to be top notch. I look for positive and negative reviews and the response. I felt comfortable with the reviews of this company so I gave them a call. After speaking with a professional at the company I scheduled an appointment. I wasn’t ready to come in yet because I needed to speak to family to see if all were in agreement to sell. Anyway, we (and 3 family members) were allowed in the back room. lol Long story short. A different person same professionalism tested my pieces, labeled them, and gave me a fair market value. They didn’t try to pressure me to sell or buy. I didn’t know anything 2years ago. But now that I do this company was spot on with the value and care of the metals while testing. This is Best place that I have encountered. Very honest, and professional. I do plan to return since the family has given me the ok. I visited roughly about 2 years ago. I hope it is still staffed by the same person who helped me. 5+ stars

A visit here is “exploring”, not shopping. So many treasures and treats from the past. It’s more than jewelry. It’s a history lesson. Even the location is historic. It once was a bank (as you can tell from the building’s architecture and safe in the back). We’ve been coming to McKinney for six years now (just moved here permanently) and this store is one of our first stops each visit. Go check it out.

Angelica: I had a beautiful sapphire bracelet given to me by my husband as a Mother’s Day gift. As I was looking for places in my area that fixed jewelry, I really wanted to give this place a chance. I was very happy with the great reviews they have. I went in for the bracelet adjustment, I needed a few links removed for it to fit me without it sliding off. I dropped off the bracelet on Wednesday, a few days after Mother’s Day. They told me it would take one week for it to be ready. I called back one week later & was told it was ready. As soon as I get home I inspect it noticing there is a chip on one of the sapphire stones. I am angry. It’s a brand new bracelet! I call the place and they tell me to come back. When I show up I get told “this happens” that’s not something I want to hear. They say they are able to replace the sapphire stone with another one which would take another couple of days. They call me telling me it’s ready, I inspect it and it’s ok. The sapphire stone is a different shade of blue than the original ones. I am very upset with this experience & should have gone elsewhere. Most definitely will not be coming back as I needed my other jewelry fixed as well.

The shop is located in a sleek, bougie building that was super easy to find—just a quick 37-minute drive from Sherman straight up 75. Allen is one of those people who feels like an instant friend. Hugh Cooley: My wife has two high end watches that need new batteries. Saw a number of good reviews so we Went to Allen Village Jewelers today to get new batteries for both watches. Was shocked at the exorbitant, high price they wanted. $165 for one watch and $65 for the other. We already had a price of $45 each for new batteries. As we left the store the woman chased us down and said “OK, I will give you a 20% discount”. We told her we already had prices way lower than her 20% discount price. I would suggest anyone doing business with Allen Village Jewelers compare prices with other stores.

They fixed the watch I brought in and resized my ring. My ring looked brand new like the day I got married, 26 years ago. They were quick and super pleasant to work with. Definitely I’ll have to purchase something from them in the near future!
