1 /5 A Zaidi: After three years as a loyal member of Westside, I am utterly disappointed by the club’s decline. I have recommended this place to friends and was able to get them get the membership, but recent experiences have been so frustrating that I can no longer endorse it. The staff’s rudeness, outdated systems, and lack of care have driven us to decide to end our membership this year. Here are the main issues:
Abysmal Tennis Programs and Coaching: The tennis program is a complete letdown. Ivan, the head coach, is arrogant and dismissive, and the coaching staff lacks empathy or professionalism. They fail to teach proper techniques, offer no meaningful feedback, and provide inaccurate information about program schedules and fees—consistently. After months of no progress, we pulled our child from these useless sessions.
Unprofessional Payment Handling: Without warning or explanation, my payment method was removed from the system. When I inquired, I was met with curt responses and told to fix it at the front desk, which is inconveniently located far from the family zone. This lack of communication and dismissive attitude is infuriating and unacceptable for a supposedly premium club.
Outdated and Frustrating Court Booking System: The court booking process is archaic. Members must trek to the front desk—far from the courts—to reserve a spot. Even after booking, I have arrived to find others playing, refusing to leave. The front desk’s response? Call them out, wasting my time, with no offer to extend my session. This feels biased, disorganized, or simply indifferent. Why can’t bookings be managed at the court for convenience and to monitor abuse?
Rigged Ball Machine Booking: The online system for booking the tennis ball machine is a farce. Despite frequent availability, the system mysteriously blocks reservations, leaving the machine unused while members are left frustrated. It’s a clear sign of mismanagement.
Neglected Facilities and Safety Concerns: The family zone is a mess. Broken machines go unrepaired for weeks, and the jungle gym is a free-for-all, with older kids creating chaos while staff at the front desk chat instead of supervising. I have raised these concerns repeatedly, but nothing changes.
While the facilities themselves are decent, the rude staff, broken systems, and complete disregard for member experience have ruined what was once a great club. Westside’s management seems oblivious to these issues, and I’m done. We will not be renewing our membership.
