My appointment was set for February 20, 2024, from the Carus dental in Temple TX. This was a referral to get my wisdom teeth pulled out. I called the dental office to ask a few questions because i will admit that dental scares me. The person who answered the phone got me to the actual dentist assistant. I asked about sedation, I told them I was nervous, and she proceeded to explain to me that after I fill out the paperwork and get my dental x-rays, youll be just fine. I said x-rays? I said my dentist sent them to you already, correct? She said her dentist likes to have his own. I also asked about the paperwork, I said, "Didnt that information come in with referral?" Again, she said, yes. But he still wants his own. I said the paperwork was long, and i that really didnt want to do that again. Can I just change the date? Again, she says no. Then her attitude changed because I was asking too many questions, which I thought was my right because its my money and my teeth. So, I started asking about the co-pay, and I told her I called my insurance company and referrals to other dentists are covered. She said they file their codes differently, and I might have to pay. I explained that please check with my insurance. Then she placed me on hold and another person got on the phone and started immediately saying that I will have to pay and they use code 9230 and thats different from the codes used at the other Carus In Temple. I explained again that my insurance ensured me that the visit was covered. Then she told me I had to pay for the consultation with the dentist, and I said, "Why do I need to console with him?" Hes not my dentist? All she asked him to do was pull out teeth. She said he my disagree with her plan for you teeth and give you a second opinion. I said I dont need a consultation. I just need him to remove my teeth. She was agreementive towards me and about the consultation, and we were just not getting anywhere. In my opinion, they both were rude to me over that. I knew i wasnt going to that dental office. I called the Carus dental in Temple and told them what had happened. Then, I proceeded to find another dental office to provide me with what I needed. Thank God for Rodeo Dental & Orthodontics of Temple, who were wonderful. Then, this morning, February 19, 2024, I received a phone call from the Carus dental in Killeen, TX. She claimed I didnt have dental coverage because she contacted my insurance, and they told her that I didnt. So, she wanted to go over pricing with me. I felt like this was just a way for me not to come in because I told them I didnt have to pay for the consultation.

Jakiyra Taylor Every person who worked on me are super sweet.They always tell me what their doing before hand and keep me updated on how my teeth are and always complement how they look. I would recommend this orthodontist to anyone who would like braces 10/10 plus the assistances are super sweet and funny.

Prosperity Life Carus orthodontics have been taking care of my sons teeth since he began his braces journey in 2022 and they are the best hands down! Ms. Amber is our favorite assistant and she always gets us in and out especially if we come early for an appointment! My kiddos, ages 10 & 14, have been going to Carus Kids dental office since they had teeth at around 1years old and Id recommend this place to anyone and everyone!!!!
