Nicole Sims The Enrolment process is enraging. I called the admissions and registration office several times and they said that a letter of unenrolment or a transcript is acceptable. A month after the letter was sent with no emails or calls. I decided to call back. And to my dismay not only was I given wrong information but I was also not able to enrol in classes because they need 50 dollar official transcripts from everyone. Also the emails they gave me was not the right email any of that needed to get sent to. As well as the person I was originally transferred to back in may and April, was a call center not the actual college. People here need to get a grip on things and not give people false info before they spend thousands of dollars on a move only to find out they cannot enrol in classes.

Elysa Osuna This place feels like what I imagine hell to be. The service is terrible. I was sent back and forth between different departments, and they lack any communication. All I requested was an old transcript, and they seem unable to resolve the issue. Im hearing different information from everyone. Needless to say, I will NEVER be taking any more classes at the Del Mar Heritage campus to avoid dealing with their customer service. It takes them at least three weeks to process any request, no matter how small. And dont even think about trying to order your transcript from here; they will make you work for it. I would say that trying to obtain my transcript from this place was 1,000 times more difficult than the microbiology course itself. I only took one course here, one, you would think it would be easy to get anything done with the admin office. But, alas, it has been the most frustrating experience.

Brenda Cantu We cannot say enough good things about Storybooks School! As parents who initially vowed never to send our son to daycare due to trust concerns, we have found a true gem here. This is not just a daycare; it’s a nurturing educational environment. From the moment we walked in, we were impressed by the amazing teachers and the loving, attentive directors. It’s clear that they genuinely care about each child. We feel completely at ease leaving our soon-to-be 2-year-old in their capable hands, knowing he’s not only safe but also learning and growing every day. Finding a place we could trust in Corpus Christi was essential since we don’t have family nearby. Storybooks has exceeded our expectations in every way. Our son is thriving, and we are so grateful to have found such a wonderful school. If you’re considering a childcare center, look no further—choosing Storybooks School is a decision you won’t regret!

jasmine Felix I love the opportunity for my daughter to learn so much academically, morally, socially, and more at this school. She’s been at storybooks school since she was 8 months old. I am big on values, communication, respect and growth and my daughter, her father and I have learned great things while watching our daughter grow up at Storybooks School.

Destiny Geter I reviewed this daycare 7 months ago, and the daycare responded, “I am sorry you felt you had a bad experience. You did have an interview scheduled for an hour later than your arrival and when you called were told that coming earlier during naptime would make it difficult to tour, children would be napping and lights would be out. You still chose to come early and wanted a tour before your job interview so you had to wait for the children to wake. Again I am sorry you felt we did not meet your expectation. We just as advised could not meet them during naptime.” It was never told to me that coming an hour earlier was “children’s nap time”. We had a tour set (I am not sure why they said job interview, we came to inquire about putting our son in the daycare). I believe it shouldn’t matter what time a person comes for a walk in to see a daycare (we would be paying you for). An establishment should always greet people when someone walks in and speak to them in a professional manner. Like I said, the director was still rude and unprofessional. I am glad we found a respectable and reliable daycare elsewhere and didn’t waste anymore time here. Have a blessed day.

Gint The Academy is such a wonderful school! Our son learned a lot and the staff is exceptionally caring. The teachers went above and beyond to make learning fun and make each child feel supported and cherished. Our son loved attending. Dominic, the owner, is very professional and organized. They were kind enough to offer a military discount as well.

Ybarra Family Academy of Living Literacy is something very special. There are so many great things to say about this school! Our daughter is going into her third year here, and loves it very much. She was a 3 year old who was shy and didnt talk much and now, an almost 5 year old who can carry on a conversation, read, and has no trouble doing simple math in her head. The personalized attention that is placed on every childs success, is nothing short of amazing. If you are looking for a place for your child to grow and learn in a safe environment while making friends along the way, take time to get a tour!

Lorna Tod I can’t be more thankful for this school. My child with special needs has thrived, THRIVED attending Bayshore. Hes reading above his level, he’s gained so many social skills and is cared about so genuinely. No school is perfect, no one is perfect but I have loved building a rapport with the staff and knowing my Son is well taken care off and is making such progress. Looking forward to more years.

Ashley Garcia I love SST Bayshore! Teachers are so kind and supportive. I never have a problem reaching out and getting help or clarification when needed. I love that principals are present at pick ups and drop offs. It’s makes it so much easier to ask questions or nice to just see their friendly faces. Ms. Polat is a GEM! We love her so much. She is so helpful and does so much for the school. The clubs are really nice especially for the younger kids who normally don’t get offered clubs until they’re older. The curriculum seems to be above average in my opinion. Honestly it’s such a great school!

Melissa Quinones I absolutely love this school! My nephew, Clinton, has Childhood Apraxia of Speech which is a neurological disorder that affects the speech muscles. Since going to The Rise School, Clinton’s vocabulary has expanded, his confidence has grown tremendously, and he has made many friends. It is a wonderful inclusive school that helps all children learn at their full potential.

Shay Had read the reviews. Was excited for my son to start at this school. Seemed like a good fit for him and his needs at the time. WRONG. I missed my son’s medication one morning and at drop off I quickly mention it to the teacher. The director Ms. Harris was standing there in ear shot so she heard me as well. I get a message saying “Per Ms. Harris you need to come back up here and give your son his medicine.” Now I’m at my infant’s Dr appointment and I’m like ummmmm ok let me call up there and find out what’s going on. I call and I’m being SCREAMED at on the phone by Ms. Harris telling me how uncontrollable my son is and everything he’s doing wrong. She said he’s all over the place and climbing the chair and window and I need to medicate him now. I couldn’t get a word in edgewise because of how loud she is being with me. I tell her I will most certainly not medicate my child for her personal needs. It will interfere with his next dose, plus all that medication does is makes him sleepy and this school will not allow their kids to just sleep whenever for however long without needing to be picked up. I go over there and at this point I need to sit down and speak to her face to face. Well her tone certainly changed and as far as the medication goes, only the assistant director knew my son was experimenting with a behavioral medicine. The medicine wasn’t on file at all. So it’s funny how she just assumed it was a behavioral medication I was talking about at drop off because he also takes Zyrtec daily. My child always acts like that with or without it. I ended up pulling my son out of that school asap. Bottom line parents, if your child is hyperactive and has trouble sitting still for circle time or is developmentally delayed in fine and gross motor skills, this school is NOT best for them. If your child has meltdowns or is often “in their own world” this school is not a good fit. My son is autistic and has a genetic disorder and he is very very hyper and still mouths things from time to time. He is now at a wonderful place where he has 9 one to one aids throughout the day all day. His new school told me they actually prefer for my son to be on no medication so they can work and treat the REAL him which I just love! I know many rave about the Rise school but this is some real and raw information here that I wish I had when I was looking for a school for my special needs son. If I would’ve known The Rise school isn’t for kids who have global developmental delay, I would’ve just kept looking for other options. I wish the old director Kayla Everett was still there. That is who I met on the tour but by the time my son started his first day, they changed directors. I now go around advocating for special needs children in Corpus Christi and surrounding areas. If there is a parent who happens to see this and you’re looking for a great trusted school for your special needs child, shoot me a message. I also help with services like MDCP and CLASS programs. I know how it feels to get that diagnosis and you’re left wondering what’s next. The Rise School failed my son. No child should have had to go through all of that nonsense.

CC Thompson All three of my children have attended this institution. This is a school where children feel confident to be themselves and truly "love to learn." For the last five years, I have seen all types of families and all types of children find a special "home" at MSCC. I am so happy that I have been able to find such a wonderful place for my children to begin their development. Its diverse, its rigorous, but always fun.
