kierstyn clemons The middle school yearbook teacher, I have no words for what she is. Cold, uncaring … my child is not in the yearbook at all. I called to ask how this could happen, couldn’t or wouldn’t answer me and just wanted me off the phone. Didn’t ask for my name or number. I’m so very disappointed.

School board members can be sued for blocking people if they are acting in their official capacity on their social media accounts.
The First Amendment protects citizens free speech from censorship by public entities like schools.
Selectively blocking accounts or deleting comments based on the content of a users speech is problematic and may violate the First Amendment.

Subject: Formal Complaint Regarding Unjust Blocking from School Pages
Dear GISD,
I hope this message finds you well. I am writing to formally address a concern regarding my recent experience with the schools social media pages. I was blocked from accessing both the middle and high school pages after asking a question.
I want to emphasize that at no point did I use vulgar language or make any inappropriate comments. My intention was simply to seek information and engage in a constructive manner. Blocking a parent from accessing school pages without valid reason is not only unjust but also hinders open communication between the school and parents, which is essential for the welfare of our children.
I kindly request that this matter be reviewed and that I be reinstated on the schools social media pages. I believe that a transparent and open dialogue is crucial for the benefit of our community. I would appreciate a prompt response to this issue.
Thank you for your attention to this matter.
Sincerely,
Kierstyn Clemons
