5 /5 Dale Martin: This is the Fayette County Courthouse square in La Grange, Texas. It dates back to the early 1800s. The courthouse is carefully renovated, with a unique 3 story atrium in the building center, and this building conducts modern justice and government administration in a historic setting. The square has professionals in personal finance, babking, legal counsel, and a dentist and ophthalmologist and optician offices and a famous meat market that serves roast brisket for lunch (until they run out) and a bakery that specializes in kolaches. Several good boutique stores are located on this square, and the location is a busy place on Saturdays and weekdays during business hours. My young nephew from the city once remarked, "Wow! This place is just like a mall that is outdoors! If you are looking for a genuine small town shopping experience, then visit this square. Check out the historic "Muster Oak" if you are interested in Texas history, with a remarkable story and military tradition. The thing about Fayette County is that here, "LIFE IS GOOD"!
