1 /5 Michelle Glover: Poor customer service. I stopped at Coming Home last Wednesday on my way to Austin area to look at their outdoor and indoor furniture. I found some furniture I was interested in (sofa, coffee table, chairs and a canvas) which I thought would look good in a room at our home. Not once did the guys involved with furniture ask if I needed help. I saw a canvas I wanted but it would not fit in my truck as it was already loaded down. I had to find someone to look up the price and they had to find someone else to do it. I prepaid for it after asking if it could be wrapped good enough for someone to pick it up and bring to me the following Monday. I was assured this was not a problem. My husband came in afterwards to look at the coffee table and furniture I liked. Immediately someone walked over to him, but started talking about football. Being in a hurry, we left and decided we would come back when we had more time to look at furniture.
I called again the morning it was to be picked up to remind them of the pick up and that it needed to be wrapped well. When it was picked up, it had a piece of flimsy plastic thrown over it, no brown paper , bubble wrap or protective wrap. No tape to secure the plastic thrown over it. I called the store to tell them the picture was not wrapped. The person answering said he had wrapped it on Friday. When I told him about the plastic laid over it with no tape or protection, he had no excuse.
We make the trip to Austin area monthly. Won’t be stopping at this store again. Even though I liked the furniture, I can’t imagine how they would package it for pick up or shipment. The handling of the canvas pretty much said it all. Who sells a canvas and doesn’t wrap it for protection.
