1 /5 Kevin: - This organization is not operating as a non-profit
- 4/5th of the members are related to eachother
- If you give tithes the way that I did, you’ll want to know that this church is not a 501.3c, so keep that in mind when giving tithes or offerings.
- This church is going currently through a pruning season. 11/14/2023.
- This church does some great outreach events, helping spread the gospel and giving out free food to those in need
- The church is pushy about tithes and offerings.
- This church has a great worship service.
- You will be called upon to the altar to repent
- Kids church is good
- This isn’t a church where you sit during service. You will be pressed to engage
- This church plays favorites and has nepotism. The more I tried to get engaged, the less receptive they were of me.
- Doctrine is sound for the most part. I spent about a year here and I only recall hearing something questionable twice or so
- if you’re light skin (like me) or Caucasian, you might have a difficult time fitting in at this church because of the favoritism going on
Overall, from outward appearances it’s a good church but they play favorites/nepotism and that isn’t biblical. I left this ministry because of the favoritism.
If you don’t believe me, just spend some time there and you’ll likely see what I am referring to.
Before leaving this ministry, I tried to have a constructive conversation with the leader of this church before I made a decision about staying or leaving.
I wanted to stay but during our conversation, church leader Tim was audibly upset at me and I got the hint that he didn’t want to hear what I had to say.
Don’t expect for him or any of the leaders to be graceful when it comes to taking constructive feedback. They aren’t good at taking feedback even when it’s presented in a respectful manner.
During our final conversation Pastor Tim would ask me questions but wouldn’t let me respond and completely discarded me when I addressed issues of nepotism.
Church leader Tim actually hung up the phone on me.
They sure loved taking my tithes and offerings though.
I forgive them for doing this to me, but the people of Seguin deserve to know how this church operates. I’ll be praying for this ministry to recover and repent of their pride.
God bless.
