5 /5 Patsy Aguirre: Went into Shag Noir to get a haircut from Hannah since I’ve seen her amazing work on others and her immaculate taste in hair styles and I had THE best experience I’ve had in Austin. The salon is cute and the customer service and sense of belonging, comfort, and relaxation that I experienced was exactly the experience I sought, not to mention the wonderful cut that Hannah gave me. I gave her a handful of ideas, and she listened to me without being dismissive and brought them to life AND it grew out gracefully and it still looks amazing after 1+ month. Highly recommend—Hannah is the best!

She listens to my hair goals and we have a great time together, too! Shag Noir has an amazing vibe. 1 /5 Alexandrea Jade Nichols: I recently applied to Shag Noir and was excited about the opportunity to work in a salon that values diversity in hair textures. However, I was disappointed that my application was declined due to an assumption about my skills based on my Instagram bio. While I mentioned wanting to gain more experience with kinky, curly textures, I am already comfortable working with curly hair and was looking forward to further developing my skills in a supportive environment. Unfortunately, I wasn’t given the chance to explain this or showcase my abilities. I believe salons should foster learning and give stylists the opportunity to grow while contributing their expertise. While this wasn’t the right fit, I hope Shag Noir continues to support stylists looking to advance their careers and broaden their skills.

She takes the time to truly understand what haircut my daughter is asking for and always delivers. Shag Noir Salon is a fabulous fit for her. The atmosphere is so inviting. It has one of those vibes where you instantly feel welcomed and at ease. We cant wait to go back!
