2 /5 Grace Tsai: Dr. Dacumos was nice and helpful, but the billing office up front is lacking. I had checked before going that my annual exam would not cost anything through my insurance, but when I arrived the front desk insisted that I have a copay BEFORE (important detail) my visit. I ended up paying to avoid issues, but then later my insurance claim had no record of the copay. I called my insurance and they said I never should have been charged and to take it up with the doctors office. After calling the PCP office, they said that was because I discussed something during my visit about fatigue. I thought back to the visit and the doctor had randomly asked me if I ever felt tired--I answered yes, I do, because I dont get enough sleep. The doctor literally just told me to get more sleep (duh?). The office staff then said that because of that discussion on fatigue, I was charged the copay. Charging me for discussing fatigue makes no sense because I was charged BEFORE I spoke to the doctor, and I wasnt actually treated for fatigue and, furthermore, it was not the reason I visited--the doctor had initiated that discussion. After going back and forth, the office said they would provide me a copay credit for my next visit, but not actually refund the cost. I would avoid the trouble of going to this clinic, not because of the poor quality of the doctor(s), but because of the misleading billing practices. I would hate to see what they would charge if I actually had a health scare.
