    2 /5 Jeffery Beeman: I enjoy the wisdom of Pastor Ira Antoine. A true man of God suffering great family tragedy. A man I admire, respect, and is truly wise in Godliness. Please pray for him during this time of trial by fire. I love the spiritual maturity and kindness of Deacon Collins and McMillan. The vocal music ministry of Mrs. Edwards is amazing. The fine worshipers here made everyone feel welcome. Sadly, Pastor Ira left the church temporarily. An interim pastor is heading the church as of July 2022. The new interim pastor is not worthy of this fine congregation in my opinion. Under his teachings, I had to listen to partisan commentary including attacks on our Supreme Court Justice family. I was continually reminded that this was an African-American Baptist church. No subtle reminder. Souls have no color and God is no respecter of persons. Gods salvation and love applies to all races, nationalities, and cultures....the entire human race. The church publications (sign, website, etc.) say "welcome". We all sure did feel welcome under Pastor Ira. A true man of God. I love the people and pastor Ira. However, until pastor Ira returns, I cannot recommend the interim pastor.

    StrungByHim: When we visited this church in 2018, as a minister at a small church with one of my rare weekend getaways, I spent a couple of hours digging through Facebook, looking for the right church to visit while we were in Gonzales. Out of all the churches, Two Rivers’ Facebook was one that seemed to really show a strong church reaching out to the community. I knew Two Rivers was the church I wanted to experience.     Barbara Erickson: I know you all do not know me but I can tell you that this church means so much to me and always will. You see, I was a very troubled youth many years back. I came from a home where life was at times what I thought unbearable. I was extremely suicidal during my high school years and would skip school many times. If someone had chosen to look for me they would have found me at your church sitting in the pews praying and begging for the LORD to help me with my situation. Basically, I THANK the LORD that he sent this church to be a place of refuge and an instrument in saving my life!!
