5 /5 Brandon Krupala: My wife and I, and now daughter, have been going to church here for about 2.5 years now. From the very beginning, we were welcomed and found it very easy to get involved. The people at the church are great, and I believe it represents an excellent reflection of the people in Harlingen and the RGV.
This church exists to make disciples and plant churches. If you want to find community, this church has it. They have multiple community groups that meet at different times throughout the week to dig deeper into the week’s message and to grow in fellowship with other believers in a more intimate setting. Want to go deeper? There are 1 on 1 or 1 on 2 or 3 groups that meet with the intention on disciple-making within the city of Harlingen and beyond. These groups typically meet weekly for a year or more with a focus on learning everything that is important in our faith: salvation, worship, prayer, the word, identity, marriage, and more. As for church planting, the church has recently embarked on “Mission San Benito”: a grassroot mission on building community within the city of San Benito that will eventually grow to a full fledged church community! The efforts of mission are not only local. The church supports missionaries in different countries as well.
As for Sundays, the church’s foundation is the Bible-God’s word. The pastors at Logos make this very evident and are excellent teachers and students of it. The sermons take an expository approach where entire books of the Bible are taught verse by verse each week. The truths and topics from the verses are exposed and preached on. This very way of teaching has encouraged me to read the Bible for myself and study it daily.
Recently the church moved to a new building in downtown Harlingen that they renovated. They really have designed it to be family friendly. They have a mulitude of classrooms for children of all ages for Logos Kids. Parents can leave their children with trained volunteers while they enjoy worship in the sanctuary. If the parents would rather have the children come with them to worship, there is a cry room available in the sanctuary in case they get fussy.
I recommend you to come visit if you haven’t been to church in a while or maybe you have been looking for a new church home.
