1 /5 Hannah McKenzie: Back in 2017 or 18, I performed for a Christmas concert at this church. After the performance, I went to join my boyfriend, and whoever it was in a position of leadership at the time had his hand on my boyfriends back and was guiding him to the front door. My boyfriend was trying to be gracious towards him, but this man walked him out of the front door, shaking his head no, shut the front door and locked us out. My boyfriend is a black man but I am not. I was astonished, saddened, and enraged by what I saw. I wanted to walk back in to confront this church leader, but my boyfriend wanted to walk away from this with GRACE so I did not go back in. It was clearly racism. I apologize for waiting so long to post this, but you all needed to know about this.
