5 /5 Randal Busby: Hope Community Church is a dynamic, diverse — multicultural, multiethnic, multigenerational church of the community. Under the leadership of Pastor Robert and Vicie Richardson, the church has been revitalized and growing by leaps and bounds. I may be biased in my opinion since they are my in-laws. But, make no mistake about it, the people of Hope Community Church are what makes it home. The church is a legacy to the Texas City area going back many generations including church mother, Sister Cecil Sanderson. After my wife and I were married at the church, we moved to Texas City and were blessed to be apart of and serve at the church for nearly two years. In that time, we fell in love with all the people who welcomed us as family and then in turn every new face that walked through the door. We had to relocate late last year for work, and it was difficult to say goodbye — even though we have a new church home in Virginia, we continue to love, support and pray for the work of God and the people at Hope Community Church in Texas City. It is our sincere hope that should the Lord tarry His Return, that generations down the road will continue to carry on the torch and be a beacon of light and hope over Texas City.
