Five Mile Dam Park - San Marcos (TX)

5 /5 W Linda (CollectingwithLinda): I arrived at the tail end of a race but still found a place to park. I walked down to the old dam and enjoyed the dry creek bed and wide variety of flowers and plants. There were some awesome harvester ant colonies too.

3 /5 behtypa behtypa: AS OF JUNE 1, 2025 THE DAM IS DRY AS A BONE. No water, plenty of shrubs. This tells me that its been dry for a long while. The park and the green area is well maintained. Good hiking, etc.

3 /5 Timothy Patton: Its a nice park with soccer fields and a play scape for kids, a track, and picnic tables, but there really isnt much to see there, most of the time there is no water flowing over the dam, most of the time if there is water it is standing stagnant water.

5 /5 Eli Boring: Great place for little hikes with kids. Has some water to play in. Rock formations to climb around on. Great place to bring kids outdoors.
