5 /5 Joshua Robinson: Great experience! We had just finished a cruise and decided to attend before heading home. As a pastor, it is nice to worship with the congregation and not be on stage ministering/leading.(Disclaimer: no one knew my vocation, including the pastor until the end. As a visitor their friendliness and welcoming attitude was genuine.)
When we arrived, we were greeted at the door with a smile! We easily found seats and waited for service to begin. While waiting the pastor came by and introduced himself. In a short amount of time we felt welcomed, like we had been there many times before.
The worship through song was blended, incorporating hymns and modern worship music. I was also impressed by the multi-generational worship team. The pastors message was about giving, and I believe he tastefully delivered a gospel centered message on a very tender topic in the church today.
The church was ascetically pleasing, and felt clean and inviting. As one of the oldest baptist churches in Texas (a fact the pastor mentioned), the building didn’t look like it was falling apart; It maintained its old-timey charm, while not feeling like a museum.
My only complaints would be:
1) The acoustics felt very echoey.
2) the parking lot didn’t seem to be clearly marked.
Overall we would definitely recommend this church to anyone looking for a church home. May God bless this church and it’s leadership!
