1 /5 Jake Panter: This is tough to write because I have some friends who attend here, and I attended for around 5 years until recently...but I worry if I wait any longer to post this, I may be putting people at risk unnecessarily...especially as people seek out a local place to worship in the new year.
Positive:
You will likely hear a good sermon if you attend, and there are some Christian people here...but beyond that be very careful.
Negative:
1. The senior pastor had (and evidence suggests still has) an abusive adult serving as a counselor in the jr high and high school youth area...we brought this to his attention, and he and others ran us off. We almost called the police on the abusive adult one night due to her violent behavior, but the senior pastor talked us out of it.
2. There was a married male pastor on staff here who recently sent encrypted emails to a single adult female at the church because he did not want her to be able to forward or share the emails...we alerted leadership to this issue, and the young pastor using the encrypted emails to avoid accountability was allowed to stay (he has since moved due to military reassignment)...but we were run off.
3. There is evidence the senior pastor recently paid hush money to someone he fired in order to keep things quiet. The senior pastor then gave the church the impression that the fired individual resigned of his own free will. If tithe money was used to pay the alleged hush money, there is evidence the church body does not know about it.
I could go on and on...but this post is not to detail everything; it is only to warn you to be on guard if you attend here.
I post this only after spending a year trying to get anyone in a leadership position to address these issues...I have been ghosted, blocked, lied to, lied about, and otherwise ignored and prevented from reconciliation.
If this post prevents even a single person from being put through what my family was put through, it will be worth it...my intent is for it to warn away many so that they seek belonging elsewhere instead of wasting time here.
And yes, I pray the senior pastor repents of his behavior and seeks reconciliation. But I brought this up to an elder in the church, and the reply was, "If Brad doesnt want to pursue reconciliation that way [in a biblical manner], then we arent going to do it."
