15/10 stars. She did a fantastic job on my initial haircut and has only improved over the years. She continues with her education, really listens to you as a client, and EDUCATES on how to style your hair at home!
I have wavy hair that turns curly when brush styled. She showed me a new brush that has changed my game. The curls last for days. Im so grateful and will definitely be making my appointments bi-annually instead of...whenever I can.
Even people who dont normally notice curly hair notice mine and compliment it. I cant give her enough credit for how much I love my hair. Definitely see Madison if you can!
Deseo Salon - Austin Jill Camden: Jason is a wonderful colorist. He listens to your thoughts on what you want and gives his recommendations on what he believes would be the best color choices for your current hair color and condition of your hair. I highly recommend him!
Frankie is wonderful too. She is very precise when cutting hair and Ive never left feeling like I did not get an excellent cut. I can go 9 weeks and my hair still looks great which has been rare with past stylists. I highly recommend Frankie!
Blonde Faith Salon - Austin Taylor Lee: This is the best salon Ive been to since moving here last October. The staff are professional and welcoming. I love my girl Sara! She does a phenomenal job! She is the only person I trust for my hair. I had never colored my hair before and wanted to add some highlights. And let me tell you, Sara delivered. 10/10 recommended!
Scissor Sisters Salon - Austin Raya Darley: What a wonderful salon! Lyssa did an amazing job cutting my daughters hair and has worked wonders on mine as well! The atmosphere at the salon was super friendly from the moment you step in. I also loved that theres a cute little vintage shop to peruse before or after your cut. My daughter (6.5) was so excited to go up on stage to have her hair cut and is absolutely thrilled with her cut. Very LGBTQ+ Friendly, I felt safe and welcome. Love this salon and will definitely be returning for my next cut as well as cuts for my daughter.
The Salon at The Arboretum - Austin Sandie Fauss: I booked an appointment a month in advance for my daughter for her first and last prom of high school. Having never gone to a prom she was so excited about having her nails and hair done, and then getting pictures! Because we had not done anything before, I fear I waited too long to book, as all our own stylists were already booked! I picked this place because of recent reviews. However, at the very last minute the salon called (not the owners) and told us our appointment was canceled because the stylist got sick! I asked about a back up stylist and she said they were booked! My daughter was devastated when I told her! How does a salon this large not have a backup plan? So I asked to speak to the manager. An “owner” called many hours later. She told us that we had not ever been customers there before so why would we expect a back up stylist for our updo? And we had only made the appointment one month in advance! If you are anticipating having your hair done for important event, you had better be an existing customer. Very highly unrecommended! It is not like we were getting a hair cut that could have been postponed a week! And the “owner”? Super unprofessional! Will post pics of my daughter’s beautiful hair as soon as we can find another salon two days in advance of the prom! Two days!
Update: we got her hair done at Shine Salon and Spa! They are super nice and worked us in even though we weren’t their “regular customers “! See pics of their great work below!
Vitali Salon - Austin Natassia Smith: This upscale salon is conveniently located in an adorable historic home. Everyone is so nice and the stylists are all fantastic. Michelle is the best stylist I’ve ever had and she will listen to you before she cuts and colors. They offer refreshments too. I highly recommend going here. It’s the best!
Detammy The Salon - Austin Morgan R: Best salon in Austin!!!! Ive never had a bad experience here. The staff are so kind and gentle with my hair. Color, cut, blowdry, they do it all so well here!!! Im coming in in a couple weeks for my first ever highlight and Im excited to see how it turns out
Craft Hair Studio - Austin meredith miller: Chrystal went to art school with a concentration in painting, and with that background, she brings her trained eye as a colorist. After meeting for a complimentary consultation, she blended my grey (which I embrace and want to keep) with my darker hair color to help soften the transition. It lifted my spirits. Besides being great at her craft, I love that she lets me close my eyes and completely zone out while she focuses on my hair. It’s a rare and relaxing escape.
Her space is in a peaceful private room in a shared modern and minimalist salon. I highly recommend Chrystal!
Modesty Hair Studio - Austin Victoria Garate: I got my haircut with Ana and this is the second cut I’ve got from her and sooooo not my last. Her cuts are amazing, grow out well, and she really understands what your hair needs. Love her!
Modern Muse Beauty Collective - Austin Eric Lewis: 5 star place in every sense of the word. This was my first time getting my hair dyed & when I say the entire staff & team there was very helpful & instrumental throughout the entire process, I truly mean it. So you can imagine how excited, yet anxious I was. From the owner all the way down to the receptionist, everyone was very supportive & insightful in any thoughts they had to offer. I felt very welcomed not only by Alexa (the one who did an absolutely amazing job on my hair), but by every single person in there. Alexa was very communicative throughout the entire process leading up to the actual appointment. She answered any questions or concerns I had & did her best to explain the process of dying hair in a way in which I would understand. Throughout the actual dying of the hair, she was great in terms of walking me through each step, explaining whats happening next & ultimately helping me decide & bring to life the vision I had for myself. Im very thankful for her & the work she did & energy she poured into this process with me. I will absolutely be heading back there soon for any & all work I need done with hair coloring, styling, etc. Go rock with this great team they have down there at Modern Muse Beauty Collective, if nothing else, theyve definitely gained a new client in myself.
