06-2025 Cowtown Ghosts: Ghost Tours & Haunted Pub Crawls in Hight rate 19 location for tourist in Fort Worth, TX, USAUmlauf Sculpture Garden + Museum - Austin Nunia Busines: Very affordable ticket prices! Parking can be rather difficult, but the garden is surprisingly spacious and nice to walk around. I went to the Lunar New Year event they had during closing hours, which does cost more than usual to attend, but the special effects on the dragon dance was pretty cool.
Museum of the Weird - Austin Shannon Felder: The Museum of the Weird is exactly what it promisesâweird, wonderful, and totally worth it. Itâs this great little spot just off Sixth Street (you might almost miss it if youâre not lookingâkind of like itâs hiding in plain sight, which honestly just adds to the mystery).
The place is packed with all kinds of oddball charmâclassic sideshow stuff, vintage creepiness, and things that make you say, âWait⌠what am I looking at?â Itâs affordable, low-key, and super fun. Like, where else can you walk past a two-headed animal, a frozen caveman, and then get a live mini-show at the end?
Itâs got big âAustin stays weirdâ energy, and I loved every second. Cheap, weird, and unforgettable. Highly recommend checking it out if youâre in town and want something different. You wonât leave smarter, but you will leave smiling.
Cathedral of Junk - Austin Megan Morris: This was a fun excursion! There was so much more detail to look at than expected! The gentleman whose house it is was super inviting and welcoming. We called ahead of time, but there were others that just showed up. Just know that this is his personal yard so be mindful that he might not always be available. Call first. Its located in a normal looking neighborhood. Its all street parking. His neighbors seem to understand thr draw and seem to politely ignore you parking in front of their house, so be mindful and respectful of that too lol The gentleman also has 2 adorable pups that he sometimes lets out to roam with the visitors. The bigger one was loveably friendly and excitedly sought out each person for pets. The sculptures themselves were fun to explore! There were sometimes seemingly themes amongst the chaos. We tried to play "eye spy" but there were so many nooks and crannies that it would have taken forever!
Mayfield Park and Nature Preserve - Austin Lindsay Garcia: This was definitely worth visiting. We had a great time. Its so beautiful and peaceful. I loved seeing the peacocks so close. They were just chilling in the shade. We saw about 6 peacocks and several cute lizards. There were also snapping turtles in the lily ponds that poked their little heads out of the water. We will come back when we visit Austin again.
Bullock Texas State History Museum - Austin Captain Oh Captain: I had the absolute pleasure of visiting the Bullock Texas State History Museum for the first timeâand wow, what an experience! From the moment I walked in, I was greeted by two incredibly kind and welcoming gentlemen, Don and Joseph. They took the time to explain what was inside the museum, answered all my questions, and made me feel right at home even before I bought my ticket.
Once inside, I was completely captivated. The museum takes you on a powerful journey through the rich and complex history of Texasâstarting with Indigenous cultures and Mexican independence from Spain, all the way to the modern era. Every exhibit was thoughtfully curated and packed with fascinating artifacts.
I left feeling inspired, informed, and eager to return. If you havenât been yet, itâs a must-seeâtruly a Texas treasure!
Blanton Museum of Art - Austin Kuda Tshililiwa: This art museum is incredible. The art pieces are beautiful, clean, and a fresh of breath air. They artists do an amazing job working your brain in understanding the more abstract pieces. The time pieces are done with such attention to detail and meticulousness, they are all very impressive. The ceramic work is also very beautiful. Without a doubt, youll walk out of here mind blown. The creativity, the attention to detail, and the overall sophistication of the art pieces is on another level.
Texas Capitol - Austin Ramin Homyak: âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸âď¸
A grand and iconic building in the heart of Austin!
The Texas Capitol is a stunning piece of architectureâmade from granite and marble, with a beautiful rotunda and dome that make it feel both historic and majestic. The grounds are well-kept and spacious, perfect for a peaceful stroll. Inside, you can explore the House and Senate chambers, and the immersive view of the building from above is absolutely breathtaking.
Located at 1100 Congress Ave, Austin, TX, the Capitol is part of the Texas Confederate Memorial Lawn, which adds a historical layer to your visit. Itâs currently closed but opens daily at 7 AMâplan to come early to beat the crowds. Definitely a must-see for anyone visiting Austin or interested in Texas history.
The Original and Locally Owned Austin Ghost Tours and Investigations - Austin Makayla Timms: This is the tour to choose, folks! The google search results can be a bit confusing, but this is the original Austin Ghost Tour that is well worth it!
Went on this tour back in November with my family! Robin was our guide and they were a blast of a tour guide! Great about answering questions, and had a lot of knowledge, stories, and fun encounters to share with us! We got a whole new perspective on downtown Austin and an appreciation for the history that makes up the area. I recently moved to the area and this gave me a desire to explore more, Im sure well go on one of the ghost tours again!
This tour incorporates real history and true stories that the company works to verify. They also do investigations themselves! We got a lot of great information, fun facts, and some wonderful memories!
Zilker Metropolitan Park - Ja De: This park is prefect for everything like picnic, gatherings, running or walking with or without pets, cycling and party. It have city view as well, River was beautiful had those blue cleared water which you can see through water creatures. Parking lots of parking space and bathrooms are accessible.
Haunted ATX Austin Ghost Tours - Austin Luci Piraro: Iâve been on tons of tours (ghost and otherwise) and Loretta is by far the best guide Iâve experienced. She puts great care into her storytelling and has clearly done a lot of research to make this a haunted history tour and not just an evening of ghost stories. What we witnessed in the basement of the Clay Pit (personally my first ever paranormal experience) can only have happened due to the respect Loretta shows to the lives of the spirits she introduces you to. I was so excited to ride around in a hearse with my friends for a few hours but had no idea that that would just be the icing on the cake. I canât recommend this tour enough.
