Wortham World of Primates - Houston
Wortham World of Primates
Islam Tasnim Ara: The best part of Houston zoo for me is the Wortham World of Primates. While walking down several enclosure with boardwalks and separate doorways, it will give you an immersive experience. A large number of rare and endangered primates are at showcase here. We walked around the area and saw Gibbon, Lemur, Orangutan, several kinds of Monkeys, Gorilla etc. All the animals roam around or rest at the their enclosure. The gorillas and orangutans live in the zoo with families and the zoo staff gave them names to make them more familiar to you. Nice idea. Watching the primates roam around and sometimes looking at you makes you think about the movie "Planet of the Apes". Keep in mind this area is the busiest one in the zoo. But still, if you are visiting Houston zoo, you should definitely visit this area.

Its a captivating showcase of Africas diverse wildlife, featuring stunning creatures like Chimpanzees, Giraffes, Ostriches, Okapi, Bongo, Hogs, Rhinoceroses, and Gorillas. The habitat design truly immerses you in their natural environment. An unforgettable adventure and educational experience.
American Statesmanship Park - Houston
American Statesmanship Park
Bruce K.: Stuck in stop-and-go traffic on the interstate, I was able to enjoy this park at 5 to 10 miles an hour. A surprising little bright spot in an otherwise frustrating afternoon and affectionately nicknamed "Mount Rush Hour" (like Mount Rushmore but with traffic). The park has 18 foot tall busts of George Washington, Abraham Lincoln, Stephen F. Austin, and Sam Houston. (Yes, for you non-Texans, the cities of Austin and Houston are named after those last two.) The park is operated by Harris County and these artworks by sculptor David Adickes were added in 2012. He titles them, "A Tribute to American Statesmanship." Enjoy if youre going slow. Or if you want a better look, the park is open to the public but not directly accessible from the interstate.

Hermann Park - Houston
Hermann Park
DavyRockt: I dont often frequent the Museum District. So, its been awhile since my last visit to the park. However, my last visit has convinced me to frequent it more often. I was originally there to see the Great Elephant Migration temporary exhibit, and I decided to take full advantage of the area. Im a hobbyist photographer, and was using the beautiful landscape to study composition, and the area was perfect for it. I stopped by on a Thursday, close to evening, and the best parking was close to the Miller Outdoor Theatre, as lots and streetside, close to the museums, were full. There were hundreds of people out, doing a variety of activities like lounging, eating, enjoying the playgrounds. Quite a wonderful atmosphere. On top of all that, there were so many amenities to participate in. I grabbed a snow cone at a food truck, that was close to a carousel, at the commons. I also swung by the Japanes Botanical Gardens, the Sam Houston Statue, the reflecting pond, and the paddle boat area. All quite peaceful, well maintained, and inviting.
