1 /5 Ida Loum-Kamara: Had to fully pre-pay AND tip as requested to secure the appointment. Chose a 2pm slot because that worked for me as a customer. Salon gave no indication that the slot they posted as available was an inconvenience that would "split their day". Called at 2:18 to apologize explaining a wreck on 380 delayed us getting there, and to let her know that eta was 2:23. Couldnt call sooner coz i was on a crucial call... Id rather pay the $25 late fee. But was told she canceled the appt. Told us we could go in the next day Saturday at 0930. I was out of town by then but made plans for it to happen. The next morning we get a text at 0741 saying that appt would no longer be possible. That I should go online and book another. Did so on Saturday july 8 for Tuesday july 11. Scheduled the day off to be there. Late on Monday july 10 I get a notification that the appt was declined for "splitting her day". The chosen available time that worked for us would have her "wait hours like last time". It becomes the customers fault that no one books the hours available before the hours we chose. We are supposed to know that her clients are few and far between so we should have the courtesy of choosing the next available vs the option we really want. Seeing that her dubious scheduling antics are not explicit on her site Im for those of us who check here. The raving reviews on our community page do not match the businesswoman i dealt with. She kept the $138 (tip included) with no service provided but i was done making plans she would change just because she had the upper hand of holding my money hostage. Sharing so no else falls in the trap.

5 /5 Sheila Taylor: Ms. Tucker has done such a wonderful job with my daughters natural hair. She would cry when I would take her to other salons, but she was at ease at Beauties with Kinks and could not stop raving about her hair (a lot of it) and how much she liked it. What I appreciate the most about Ms. Tucker is her professionalism, patience, and her ability to make her customers will feel at ease in the process. Thank you for making McKenzie look and FEEL beautiful. She loves coming to your salon.

5 /5 Stefani Smith: Kendra is so very talented and skilled. In the last 6yrs, she has never disappointed when it comes to doing my girls’ braids nor my own. She’s so great with little ones. I have also taken a braiding class with her that was a game changer for us.

5 /5 Mo Elzubeir: i’ve been looking for a stylist who can work with my short hair to do cornrows for months before i found ms kendra. i’m new to this, but i was prepared to expect some discomfort and a scalp that cries in pain from the tension. ms kendra reminds me of nurses who draw your blood without you even realizing a needle just pierced through your skin and into a vein. i have needle phobia, so i am extra appreciative of those nurses. ms kendra has that same smooth touch. shes got butter fingers, yall! the tug on my scalp remained firm, but almost disappointingly pain-free. not only is she good at what she does, but loves doing it. you simply can’t go wrong with such a combination
