5 /5 MariKay Hamm: I love AHBC & so glad we found this friendly, caring church with wonderful people. Classes take turns hosting Wednesday night supper - some cook & some bring desserts. Dinner & fellowship with lots of conversations - sharing with each other about regular every day stuff, jokes, family updates & concerns. If you arrive for dinner on time, you get a full hour of just a nice homestyle meal & visiting. It really is a family dinner. After dinner, we get a full hour of Bible study with Pastor Brian. He welcomes interaction - & sometimes probably regrets it. We get to be involved. He tells great stories & likes to draw on the white board - we can usually tell what he is drawing or find cool slides that we can usually tell what he was going for. It is just a good time & we learn so much from not only the Pastor but each other. If you dont like people or think church shouldnt be where you can join in & enjoy the time together, this is not the place to come...or maybe it is, you just hadnt had it done right before. They are getting ready to break for the summer on Wednesday evenings & go to Life Groups around town for the summer. Im glad we came to check it out! Wed love to have you! Come check us out on a Sunday morning. Youll see the same people there on Sunday mornings. Maybe you want to sing in a choir & ready to come back after Covid to a local church. Have you ever thought, I wish there was some place I could go to hear a Hand Bell Choir? or - I wish I could learn to play the hand bells. We are expanding the Hand Bell Choir. They play a few times a year - especially on or near holidays. The ringing of the bells for Easter Sunday was really a treat for everyone. Hallelujah Chorus was played & even though I had heard it go from a noise when we first started in the rehearsal room to a song everyone recognizes filling the sanctuary with the warm rich tones...it made my heart swell & brought tears to my eyes. We enjoyed bringing that glorious music to the people of the church but we were really playing for an Audience of ONE! It was really special. It is almost a lost art. Thank God for our Director Cherie who resurrected it first with Bell Chimes & then found a 2 octave set of REAL handbells when she was packing up at her previous church & church school they had before she & John moved to Texas. We were so excited to have REAL BELLS! The rich tones & resonation that fills the church. Oh, and I havent even started on the musicians that are there every Sunday. We have Dr Dave on the grand piano, welcoming you in song as you arrive, Bob on the keyboard, George on the electric guitar, John on the drums! & Collin pulling it all together. You have to experience it! Come to play music, come to sing, come to listen, come to join in the worship...but most of all - come hear about Jesus! He loves the music, He loves the teaching, He even loves the announcements! Most of all Jesus Loves Me, this I know for The Bible tells me so. Come to meet my Jesus!
