True Texas BBQ - New Braunfels (TX)

5 /5 Christine 63: I was really craving a baked potato on my lunch break. They did not disappoint! I also ordered brisket nachos. They did not skimp on toppings. The nachos were loaded with brisket. Everything Ive ever ordered from here is phenomenal. The blueberry cobbler was also surprisingly delicious. It had the perfect fruit to cobbler ratio and it was served warm and not too sweet.

4 /5 gus g: We saw an review online which said the bbq ribs were the best. So thats why we came. We have been to lots of the BBQ places in town, but always looking to try more. My wife and I both got the ribs. For us, they had way too much black pepper on them. Almost non edible though we trudged through. I dont know if this is intentional or a one time error. Not sure. But to be honest, not willing to try again. The location and atmosphere was perfect. Really nice place.

The BBQ Brisket w/Brisket BBQ-Beans and Corn bread. OMG..The corn bread was a special treat. Nothing like it in this world. Texas should be proud to offer this delicious food. 5 /5 Dwayne Rolniak: It’s been a few weeks since I last had H-E-B Texas barbecue, and somehow I forgot just how ridiculously good that brisket is. One bite in and—boom—instant reminder. Juicy, tender, piled high on a toasted bun… I added coleslaw and went full Texas-size. Honestly, I almost needed a nap halfway through. The brisket-and-pinto beans? Let’s just say they did not skimp on the brisket. Flavor for days, just the right amount of sauce, and I even topped it all off with a little extra spicy sauce because why not? They had just opened at 11 a.m., and the service was excellent—shoutout to Desiree! Food came out hot, fast, and smelling like happiness. I’m moving out of state soon, but I already know that the next time I’m back in Texas, this is my first stop. Five stars all

3 /5 Silvestre Garcia: Visited True Texas BBQ in New Braunfels, TX. The brisket was really good—great flavor and smoked just right. However, there were a few downsides to the experience. As you walk in, it feels like you’re about to order at a fast-food restaurant (of course it’s inside an H-E-B) You place your order through a screen, and you don’t get to see the meats being cut in front of you(in Texas you would like to see your meat being cut front of you) When the food arrived, nothing was wrapped, and it was a bit cold. The sides had no flavor at all. Honestly, you’re better off sticking with your local, small, family-owned BBQ spot. I’d only return here to grab brisket if it were the only option nearby and I was starving.
