4 /5 Allison Kojima: This place used to be a bicycle shop, but after the owner passed away, the building was turned into a restaurant. I loved that they kept the bicycle-themed decor- it’s a charming tribute to its history.
There’s a good amount of parking on the right side of the building, though it can get pretty busy, so just a heads up!
Here’s what my friends and I ordered:
Sidewalk Surfer
Just FYI, this is only available on Fridays and Saturdays! You can tell all the ingredients are fresh, but I do wish the portion size was a bit larger. That said, the masa cake was unique, so I’m glad I got to try it.
Death Grip
If you’re craving something sweet and savory, this is the one. It tastes like a donut sandwich with deep-fried brioche bread and a side of jam (which has a bit of a kick!)
It’s definitely on the heavier side but flavorful!
Peddler
If you’re in the mood for something lighter, I’d recommend the Peddler. It’s a more refreshing option compared to the Deathgrip.
The food took a little while to come out, but our server was incredibly kind and welcoming. She checked in with us regularly to make sure we had everything we needed.
Looking forward to coming back and trying more items on the menu the next time I’m in Brownwood
