5 /5 Texas Rejects: To be completely honest, I’m a bit of a fried chicken connoisseur — I know my bird. This was my first time at The Gripper, and we went in blind, not knowing the story or that the “Gripper” is the go-to order. As you’ll see from our pictures, we tried something different, but let me tell you — it did not disappoint. The flavor, the crunch, the whole vibe — 10 out of 10. I’ll definitely be back next time I’m in town, and if this place were local to me, it would easily replace my favorite chicken spot. Highly recommend! To top it off all of this and a 18% tip was only $57 dollars!

5 /5 Quyen Tran: Local restaurant from award winning chef from Detroit, and I can see why. All the fried dishes we had were full of flavor without being over salted. You can also tell the fry oil was fresh as food was not dark and over fried. Flavors were on point , with some very unique dipping sauces. The staff were super nice and very helpful in deciding what to order. Taking the time to detail dishes as well as let know of the daily as well weekly specials. Always happy to support local businesses. Very happy that they are in Pearland and wish them continued success.

5 /5 Tashanda Johnson: The Gripper didn’t disappoint! We ordered the lobster mac and cheese, fried fish, and shrimp. Kid-friendly, the food was great, and the restaurant was amazing too and we were happy. Loved their welcoming energy. Oh yeah, the Kool-Aid was fire.

5 /5 Evan Lee: Came in on a whim for a weekday dinner with the kids as we wanted to try something close by. I didnt have much expectations but this place is good! Menu can be a bit much as you look at the amount of choices and the counter order system can be confusing at first. Dont make my mistake of thinking these sliders are tiny. I was thinking they were small Hawaiian roll type sizes. We ordered a little of everything and it was waaayy too much food for 3 people. We ordered 2 orders of wings, Gripper fries, 3 types of sliders and a lobster bowl. You can see in the images, the size of the chicken slider is the size of my fist and thats the kids menu! Food is amazingly good and and my mouth is just watering thinking about it as I write this review days later. Top notch food and service. My only minor gripe is the cleanliness of the space. The floors were so sticky you can literally feel and hear it as you move around. Pretty much everything from the tables, chairs and counter areas felt sticky and grimy like it hasnt been properly cleaned in some time. Getting some professional cleaners to come in every now and then will help and I do feel this would turn some customers away. But other than that, everything is top notch and would love to come back and try more things out.
