5 /5 Felix: My experience at The Good Taco was quite good, but it was muddled by confusing and convoluted menu options.
First and foremost, the tacos and service were excellent. I would rate this place 5 stars if it wasnt for the strange menu.
I loved the contents of my taco (chorizo, potatoes, and eggs), and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The salsa was delightful, and I appreciated that the tortillas were made from scratch. The tacos were packed, and although I felt like it was a good value purchase, the filling often spilled out from the sides.
The service was exceptional. They were very kind and thats really important to me. Keep that up.
The menus item descriptors are much too wordy. I appreciate that they were trying to have fun with it, but I dont want to scan a paragraph to identify 3 simple ingredients. I suggest highlighting the ingredients by making them a different color (like red). That way, the flavor text can remain, and old, boring people like myself can easily identify the ingredients for quick skimming.
The customizable taco section is confusing; it allows you to pick 1 or 2 items (regular or premium topping), but none of the toppings were actually eggs. When I tried to order a 2 item chorizo and cheese taco, there was an awkward discussion where I had assumed egg was on the taco by default and the proprietor thought I didnt want eggs at all. As a friendly suggestion, perhaps instead of an awkward 1 or 2 item selection, theres instead an egg or no-egg selection. Then you can simply tack on the toppings.
If the owners reply to this with something meaningful and progressive, Ill upgrade my rating because this place literally gets everything else right, and I want to support them. Its just the menu that weighs down this rating.
But maybe youre not there for a good menu. Youre there for a good taco, and youll definitely find one here.
EDIT: The proprietor replied with something meaningful, rating updated to 5 stars.
