2 /5 Kanhaiya Ashtekar: I visited this spot in Fredericksburg based on the overwhelming number of positive reviews, but the experience was not the same.
The place has a simple, rustic feel. Which made me feel more psotive of the food experience until we tried it.
We order the walnut banana pancakes and crab meet sandwich. The pancakes were enjoyable, the rest of the meal was a major letdown.
The crab meat sandwich felt very bland, and poor quality crab meat.; the meat had a foul odor and tasted off (i like crab meat and often enjoy it when found on menus). To make matters worse, the sandwich was completely unseasoned and bland. Our server recommended their "famous" fries, but they were just standard fries topped with some garlic and parmesan—nothing special at all.
I couldn’t shake the feeling of disappointment and the fact that reviews were not all true. The food here is generic and lacks flavor. If you are a tourist or a first-timer, I suggest skipping this place. Dont be swayed by the hype; its just basic food that doesnt live up to the reputation.
