3 /5 James Lawrence: The meat was the highlight! The staff that brought the food around to us were very polite and generous with the portions. The options became repetitive very quickly, perhaps due to staffing issues or holidays. The drinks and desert were 10/10! The soup I got was at best luke warm, but was eatable and still had great flavor.
The main reason for deducting two stars was our service. It was my girlfriend and I’s anniversary, and we saw our server two times over the course of an hour, not including the time he sat us. My girlfriend had to embarrassingly yell “hey” across the restaurant while he was attending to a nearby table so that we could order another drink and dessert. We had planned to order more drinks, but due to the massive delay opted not to. While it was initially not busy, which means there was no reason for poor service, it quickly got busy and he had large tables. We were also sitting in the furthest corner. We were very obviously forgotten and not cared about, which was upsetting considering how much the meal cost. He was more constistently checking on his big tables, but even when he would make his rounds to the large tables and other small tables, he would completely omit walking over to ours. I ended up leaving a much smaller tip than we planned to, as I went in fully expecting to splurge and give a *large* one. If he profiled us and assumed he would make more money from the large tables ordering bottles and not us, shame on him and a big mistake! Don’t judge a book by it’s cover.
