4 /5 Eula Weaver: Shelly, a former school cafeteria director, makes delicious "everything-from-sctatch" food in a cafeteria-style setting. We stopped on our travels from AZ for a quick Sunday lunch. We enjoyed the crispy chicken-fried chicken with mashed potatoes and gravy, fresh green beans, amazing creamed corn, creamy mac n cheese and a fresh baked yeast roll. A yummy piece of home-made cake with vanilla icing was included along with a large glass of iced tea. Shelly actually took the time to sit and visit with us for a few minutes telling us some of her great employees are here sisters and nephew. Definitely a family affair. The building is a little older but its clean and well run. The friendly staff and excellent food make up for any lack of ambience. If youre looking for really good food, a reasonable price and Texas hospitality, youll find it in abundance here.

5 /5 mojovoyager: This a great home cooking restaurant that offers up a very satisfying and tasty meal for an extremely reasonable price. A different meal special is served each day and includes a potato dish, a roll, a vegetable, a dessert and a drink. I happened to be passing through Vernon on a road trip a little after the lunch rush hour ans was able to enjoy a great meal in about twenty minutes total time from entry to exit.

5 /5 James Starr: Great scratch kitchen. Had an amazing breakfast and watched football all day. The only thing tough about the order was my two shots of 1800 cost $20! WTH! I can buy a big bottle for $43 so I wasn’t happy about that. Everything my but the hard alcohol prices were fair and for the good food prices are great.

5 /5 Matt Podzemny: This place was excellent. We were just passing through and honestly didn’t have high expectations. They only had one meal to choose from but every single thing on the plate down to the dessert was delicious. Super impressed and we will stop by again as we travel this route often. The staff was very nice as well.

The team were really friendly, helpful, and accommodating despite it being the end of their day and really went the extra mile to make sure we were all comfortable. The food was also delicious home cooking, lots of it and good value for money. Is well worth a stop if you are passing through.
