“This place is clearly popular and stays busy most days. They only accept reservations after 3 p.m., and by lunchtime the line is often out the door. They open at 10 a.m., and it’s best to arrive before 11 to avoid the lunch rush. While the food comes out fairly quickly, it does get crowded and finding a table can be challenging during peak hours. Parking is limited to street parking, though I was fortunate to arrive early and snag a spot right out front.
I happened to be passing through town and stopped in while craving a cheeseburger—and it absolutely hit the spot. The carrot cake was massive, far larger than expected, and a pleasant surprise. It was moist, flavorful, and topped with the perfect cream cheese frosting. Several people waiting in line even commented on it after seeing my slice.
Ordering is done at the counter; you’re given a number and seated at an assigned table. One small downside was the drink selection—I had hoped for root beer but found only Coke products, so I opted for water instead. Keep in mind tables are close together so you over beer other conversations. It’s loud due to the amount of people in one open area.
Overall, I really enjoyed my visit. The portion sizes are generous, the menu has great variety with appetizers and multiple entrée options, and I would definitely return to try a breakfast plate or a relaxed dinner.
