Pioneer of Texas - Wichita Falls (TX)

1 /5 Grace Bain: Tried this place last week, was really hoping for at-least a decent meal. But everything was horrible! The chicken fried steak that they served was old and microwaved! I know! because the oil was pooling on top! Gravy was also burnt as in you can taste the burnt flour! and really who serves gravy on the bottom of a chicken fried steak! The whole thing was completely inedible! I tried a couple of bites and stopped eating! The ribs were at least edible according to my brother, but again the brisket that was served was old and dry and tasteless! The only decent food that was served to us was the onion rings! The ambience of the restaurant was cool, but the food is a no go for us! Server was in a hurry and did not care enough to see what was wrong with the food, also forgot to bring out a couple of the sides.

2 /5 Steve Hardin: First time I when it was freaking awesome. When it two days later it was terrible. I got the top steak both times with bake potatoe with butter ONLY!!! it came to the table the potatoe was loaded and steak was covered in what every the heck was in the potatoe. I paid for everything give the woman a tip and walked out. Ill never step foot in there again. There is one awesome steak house in the next parking lot to the north called McBrides on Maplewood. I highly recommend driving right by Pioneer

3 /5 Carson Matthews: Group of 2 - Servers were kind enough, but not always attentive or around when needed. The food was warm, but had obviously sat for a few minutes (possibly while finishing the rest of the order) Chicken Fried Steak had little flavor, as well as the gravy. And the Burger was incredibly greasy (mostly the bun). However, the food was still enjoyable enough and the atmosphere was nice.

2 /5 James Russell: Worst service ever. After getting coffee and ordering. Waited 30 mins for food. During that time. The waitress Never checked on us. I finished my coffee 1st cup of coffee. And had to wait 30 mins for food. Then I was finally offered more coffee. Which she only gave me a half of cup while I was gone to restroom. ??? . Never checked on us. Just brought the bill and left again. I went pay check. At this point very upset with service. And she came up to me and said Im your cashier and waitress. The nerve. Will never return to the Pioneer on Maplewood. Would NOT recommend!!! Also Ive never been to a pioneer when the jukebox is broken..silence... P3 Is the only decent Pioneer left in town.

5 /5 Rowdy YEETS: Come on down to this classic Texas eatery and get full on their hearty meals. Mostly homestyle cooking, they do still offer a wider variety, including some Mexican food offerings. Packed with ranch, Texas, and Western style memorabilia, the atmosphere is homey and nostalgic and patrons will enjoy seeing all of this. Our food was hot, fresh, and delicious. I highly recommend this establishment. Our server, Catherine, was friendly and polite and is a hard-working Texas mom. We loved her and her hospitality.
