4 /5 Michael McCorkhill: Tasty food. Choice of GF bread was small flat bread. Your own chicken salad (potato salad etc) are always the best, right? So be realistic about what tastes good to you. Really liked the bollio bread for my sandwich. Pickle on the side was the most sour I’ve ever had. Glad downtown has this place as an option.

5 /5 Marc Soellner: Strolling through downtown Palestine, we were trying to find a place for lunch. Old Magnolia offered sandwich, soups, salads and wraps. We enjoyed our wraps and salad in the interesting setup of the diner. People were friendly and nice, and prices very reasonable.

3 /5 John Kelly: If you are passing through Palestine on your way to Jefferson, the Magnolia Cafe is worth a stop, especially if you are looking for local color. When on a road trip, atmosphere trumps food. Half size sandwiches are a great way to save your calories for a special dinner. After lunch, take drive along Sycamore Street to view the majestic old houses. Or, stroll into the adjacent antique shop and pick up a vintage bird cage.
