3 /5 Santiago: Edit: I should have mentioned that the bartender did come by and ask us how everything was. Maybe I should have said something, but at that point we just wanted to finish and go.
Ordered some brisket, regular sausage, Lockhart twinkie, baked beans, and mac & cheese. I use to frequent this location quite often when I lived nearby. Its been a while since Ive been back. I was honestly disappointed in the quality of the food. The worst was the brisket. It was so dry. It tasted like it was yesterdays meat. I did not like their sausage, but in their defense I think Im just not a fan of smoked sausage. Of the many places that I have had it, Ive only liked it from 1-2 places. I will say the texture was like biting into ground beef. The twinkie was ok. The bacon was coated with something, maybe sriracha, and I wasnt crazy about it. The baked beans were not sweet and a bit salty. The mac & cheese was very good. The restaurant itself was clean and lots of charm. The staff is always nice. Maybe I remember things differently, it has been a while, but I remember there being more than one type of sauce. Taste is subjective, but preparation is not.
