5 /5 ashley negrete: This restaurant has never disappointed me, and this visit reminded me why. The food is always delicious, but what really stands out is the service. Every time I’ve come here, the servers have been fast, courteous, and genuinely attentive. You never feel rushed — if you need something, they’re right there and honestly theyre always in a good mood naturally. This time was especially meaningful. We came in hoping to have a quiet place for Bible study while we ate, but the dining area was pretty noisy and it was too cold to sit outside. We mentioned to our server that we were just trying to find a peaceful spot to do our Bible study, and without hesitation he got the Manager and he said, “We have a private room in the back — you can use that.” Even though the lights were off, he turned them on and set us up in a quiet corner so we could have our time in peace. That small act of kindness meant a lot. Not many restaurants would go out of their way to accommodate something like that, especially when it comes to something personal like Bible study. It felt respectful, welcoming, and above and beyond what we expected. We were able to eat, talk, and study comfortably without feeling rushed or out of place. That kind of hospitality is rare, and it made the whole experience even better. If you’re looking for great food, warm service, and a place that truly cares about its guests, La Playa Mexican Café is it. 5 /5 Thomas Sheppard: Food was amazing as always. I do not get to Harligen often but it is my go to for authentic Mexican food. My server today was Liliana and she was amazing. Ask for the green sauce if you like it spicy she also brought me an orange/red as well which was great. Bestt in town! 5 star place. Thank you guys as always for an amazing experience!

2 /5 Rachel Vela: When we first got there we were seated and we ordered waters to start before actually getting our alcohol beverages. Which was horrible very bland like it was limonada not margaritas definitely not award worthy. Our server Dario was very rude from the start every time we tried to talk he tried to walk alway like he had better things to do then take our order. We’ve worked in the service industry before so we know the standard that needs to be held when working in this environment. (I hate leaving bad reviews by the way) He was very busy which we did understand but we felt he spent more time with other tables than us. My recommendation to him is do better don’t treat people like they’re not going to tip or whatever his reasoning is to be so rude it was unnecessary. Especially because we are actually great tippers when deserved we use to work in that industry as well like I’ve mentioned. Other then that the food was amazing the stuffed avocados was pretty good, the puerco con calabaza was amazing and even the kids Mac and cheese was superb.

5 /5 Brenda Hammond: We visited late on a Wednesday night (the 1st of October) and pretty much had the place to ourselves. The staff was friendly, pleasant, and more than competent. The food was excellent. We had Queso Flamiado with beef for an appetizer. We did not have the server light it on fire. It was delicious and we enjoyed it very much. I had the fried stuffed avocado with chicken and my husband had the chile relleno. Both were wonderful. Presentation was very nice and the other food on the plates was as good as the entrees. Overall, we were super impressed and highly recommend La Playa.

5 /5 Stella Garcia: As you walk up to the restaurant, the decorations are colorful and wonderful. The waitress, Elvia was so friendly. There were five of us at the table and Elvia was great at taking care of us. I had the seafood enchiladas and they were so delicious! The chips and salsa were very tasty as well! Thanks for a great meal!
