El Fenix - Greenville (TX)

3 /5 Riley C: El Fenix has been a favorite of my family and I for as far back as I can remember. Most of the time, we go to the location in downtown Dallas. But we would occasionally go to different locations. It was my Granny’s favorite restaurant. So whenever we go, it always gives me memories of her no matter which location. Even though we always pass the Greenville location, we have never actually been inside and eaten. We tried one time and it was so busy, we didn’t have time to wait. But this time my wife and I decided to stop by and grab a bite. We actually had that rare occasion where we were both off of work on the same day. We decided to stop by and grab a bite for lunch. I ordered the classic chicken enchiladas and they were good. My wife, she ordered the tortilla soup with her rice on the side. She enjoyed it but couldnt finish it. The food was good ( not great but good), the only thing I can really complain about was the service. The place was not crowded at all. But we rarely had a visit from our waitress to see if we need anything. Soda, hot sauce refill? So that was a negative for me. She dropped the ticket off and took for ever to come back. So long my wife got up and went and waited in the car. I can say that we will most likely return to El Fenix, but might think twice about this location. Maybe your experience will be different. 3 /5 Tina Schoellman: Came here on Friday, March 28, 2025. Ordered drinks from the bar, special was beer on tap, they were our of it, had only bottles. Ordered the margarita, barely any salt on rim, and it took almost 20 minutes to arrive, the lomes were completelydried out. The chips were old tasting, the food was pretty good. They need to clean, though. There are layers of dust around the tables in the bar, kind of gross. I ended up getting sick later that evening from the "beef enchiladas", wont eat those again.

5 /5 Craig King: Food was good but not exceptional. It was a solid meal. Very fair prices. I would like to give it a 4.5.

5 /5 Cristie Jacks: This was our first visit but definitely not our last. Service was outstanding, our waiter was so attentive to everything we needed, made sure our drinks where refilled. Chips where fresh and very tasty, right amount of salt. Salsa was excellent as we are definitely picky about our salsa. My son and myself shared the El Jefe Dinner and it came on two plates. My favorite of the dish was the tamale it was great with the tomato sauce was excellent. The Fish tacos my daughter got she said were her favorite the fish was great tasting, seasoned wonderfully she said she will order again. Husband ate the Beef Tacos but did throw in a chicken one and he said they were great tasting. Great Atmosphere, Great service and the food was excellent. We will be going back again.

5 /5 Shelby Brisbin: Pretty quick service considering the amount of people that were there on a Friday night. Food as always was amazing. My step daughter and I had a great time and the churros with ice cream and soppapilla is a must have!
