2 /5 Lynette Smith: My husband and I just had a very disappointing experience at Double Dave’s in Bastrop, Texas. The lady taking our order had to pull someone from the back and spoke to them in Spanish because she clearly didn’t understand what we were asking he. I could deal with that… But what I couldn’t deal with is waiting and waiting for our pizza that we had advised we wanted to dine IN with. They ended up putting it in a box, leaving it under the warming light as if it were a to go order and no one thought to bring it to us, so we sat there and sat there until I finally went up to the counter and realized they had processed it as a to go order.
The lobby wasn’t busy, there were only two other tables that were dining in, so anyone could’ve looked at us and realized that there was an issue with the amount of time we were still sitting and waiting.. There was no apology, they looked at us when I told them that was terrible customer service as if it were my fault. At a minimum they could’ve called out our name so I would’ve known that it was ready.
I’m also not in the habit of leaving a tip ‘before’ having our dining experience and I almost feel that they did that to us on purpose because I did not leave a tip when we originally paid. Now I’m glad I didn’t. Won’t be returning.
